Congratulations Mitch and Brittany

I have known these two for years since the good old days when we used to go out bar hopping in my early 20s…. fast forward TEN YEARS and we each have 2 kids now!

Their current 4 level split isn’t cutting it anymore with their current lifestyle and growing family and so it was time to buy a new home. Originally the plan was not to build new, but after looking at homes that were already there they ended up making the decision to build and have exactly what they wanted.

Detail oriented and numbers driven Brittany was super on top of everything, admiringly more so than me. She knew every last detail and had every penny accounted for when planning their upgrades to the standard build.

We started our offer with an agent in the area and it left all of us confused and frustrated… but this is the beautiful part about new builds! We had a discussion about it and I told them that they were going to have to deal with this individual for the next year of their life, and so we should retract our offer walk away from it and re write with another agent representing the building. As scared as they were about the process of retracting our offer it ended up being the best decision we could have made.

Our first appointment with the new agent was incredibly different than the first and within minutes I knew that we had indeed made the right decision. Shortly after that appointment we had an accepted offer and began working through the conditions.

The timing of the offer was the exact same time the courts made their decision on the impact fee. This added an extra layer of confusion as builders, lawyers and buyers were all navigating how to work with this new decision that had been reached, while still knowing that there could be an appeal.

In the end everything got sorted, and now we stand in front of this pile of dirt which will become their home next spring.

Congratulations to your family. It makes me smile knowing that your goals are coming true and you are having everything in your life fall into place.
