Congratulations Lori

Lori and I first started out on the house hunt long before Covid. We were joyfully out looking at places and on a mission to find her an amazing home. We had seen this house and a few others on the street that would be ready soon and were playing around with the options of building from scratch or choosing from something that was already built.

Then Covid happened…. everything took a giant halt. Lori wasn’t 100% certain her job was secure and as I was watching the Toronto market I wasn’t sure if we would follow and halt all new construction. Not only was it the wrong time for her to buy a home, but especially a new build. So we took that giant pause, put it all on the back burner and focused on getting used to our new normals.

Once we all settled in and could see that we would not be subject to the same fate as Toronto and we knew that her job was secure, we got back out there again two weeks ago. We looked again at homes on the street that were built and continued with the debate of what was going to be best. We went back, I think for the 4th time and really worked hard to ensure it was right. We pretended we were having a party, how would it feel while cooking in the kitchen and entertaining guests, where would the sun set, how would the home feel. We had seen it at various times of the day and had a really good feel for it.

Next thing we knew we were writing up the offer which is a simple but long process with new builds. It happens a little different as it all has to be on a builders contract and the listing agent actually drafts the offer instead of me. As a control freak this is something I have always struggled with when it comes to new builds, but I got to sit and watch while it was being written to know that everything was being taken care of as I would want it to be.

I really do think you made a fantastic choice. You have an amazing new home, will be able to watch the sunset, and do all the travelling you want! Congratulations Lori and thank you for being so easy going and amazing (and for bringing your amazing friend along for the journey).
