Congratulations!

This multi-year journey is complete and this family is nestled in my favourite neighbourhood of River Park South!

We sold their condo, which took some time in the exchange district in Winnipeg. Then the next step became finding them a new home! It was a hard search with many multiple offer situations that went to prices they just didn't want to go to, but then there was this gem. In this situation, they were able to get it under the list price! It has an incredible addition that makes it unique to all the other homes with a similar layout. The vaulted ceilings are incredible! It is such a perfect home in the most amazing neighbourhood.

These guys also make the most incredible apple jelly that my kiddos love! Thank you for working with us and allowing us to be a part of this journey! I am so happy for you and how perfect this all turned out.

Let’s Talk A Bit About Discrimination

A long time ago condo rules and regulations were built for each individual building. Some of those buildings included an age restriction on who could live in them. But then entered the anti-discrimination act in real estate... and those rules are no longer allowed, however, they still exist in many condo documents.

The ByLaws never got changed. There are still many buildings in the city that are primarily 55+, however, if you are 20 years old and decide that you love a unit in one and want to buy into it, you can. You would have to file an appeal, but you would win, because under the anti-discrimination act, they are not allowed to discriminate against you based on your age.

I would love to know what you think. Do you think that some buildings should be allowed to stay in an older community, where the same demographic may appreciate the same things (quiet, hallway walking, etc) or do you think multiple generations should mingle more?

Welcome The Bead Place To The Kid Boss Market

These two run their business called The Bead Place. Addison started making pony beads and perler bead crafts as an activity at after-school care. He enjoyed it so much that he asked to buy both kinds of beads to make his bead creations at home. He then got his brother Micah involved with the activity at home. The boys would spend hours making different kinds of bead animals, cartoon characters and video game characters, and they are bringing these creations to you for The Kid Boss Market!

Super Excited For This Buyer!

So excited for this buyer and his killer south-facing balcony that he is going to get to enjoy!

We didn't look at too many condos, but the ones that we did were duds. Too much work, not quite the right location, and one was a 55+ that we loved, and we could have fought the condo rules because they aren't allowed to age discriminate... but as much as the idea of having endless baking from the grandmas in the building was appealing, it ended up feeling not quite right.

This one had been on the market for 5 days when we viewed it, and as I was walking up to get the keys another agent was returning them while on their hone.. and I knew... I told him right away, if this is the one we have to think fast.

So, we finished our showing, told the agent that we were going to write and sure enough I got the call shortly after that we were in competition, that other agent was indeed writing. We made the changes we needed to make and secured that condo for him and I couldn't be happier.
